This week in maths we have been learning about measuring length. I have learnt

today room 3 went outside Tekapua to measure it. First we estimate before we measured it I guess 54 my partner we guess 54 then Mr Wiseman came to us and we have to give him our number so he knows who is going to win the challenge that he gave us. Now it’s our turn my partner had the wheel we were going slow and steady when we got to the end. the answer is 30 we were 24 behind that’s okay but maybe next time we can do little bit better.

– cm = 10mm

– kilometre = 1000

– When measuring with a ruler it is important to start at 0

– Standard units for length are millimetre, centimetre, metre and kilometre

–  Estimate means a close enough guess
