Hi Mariposa here to explained about my prime maths question. Explained about the adding with regrouping
| This year, our year 8 camp was held at Carey Park. We were there for 3 days and 2 nights. My first thought as I packed I felt nervous, scared and confident. I was feeling this way because sometimes when one of our family members leaves the house we get emotional.
I shared my dorm with Me, Tsaeedis, Willam, Mason, Feiloaki, Braxton, Joshua, Eli and Samson. My 2 activities that stood out to me are swingshot, rock climbing and flying fox. I think the most that stood out is swingshot because it’s much higher than rock climbing and flying fox. And facing my own fear which is heights. My other one is a flying fox because it’s the same as a swingshot but different. The flying fox was my warm up before the swingshot. You know, to get my confidence up. The challenge I overcame was fear because. Fear is something not that easy to face. Because for example you have an audience that is looking at you. And I felt confidence inside me. And my other one is heights. When I went to the swingshot I was scared because when I get scared my stomach feels scared. A moment I will never forget will be this camp because this camp was really fun. The experience that I had was so good. And those things I haven’t tried. This camp helped me gain a lot of confidence. And giving things a go during camp. For example the teachers called out some of the year 8s names to reflect about camp. My team west side B we worked together as a team. In our 3rd rotation we had trolleys. So what we have to do because we have nine people in our team we have to be in groups of 3 so we have 3 trolleys to make it’s like a go cart but we have to make it. There are different parts to make it. We used the steps to make the trolley. We used our thinking skills to work out what the parts were but we have an adult. Carlos’s Dad helped us with the hard parts and what we did wrong. As a team leader of west side B I saw my team encouraging the ones that went up to the swingshot. It takes courage to go up there and we are facing our own fears. When we went to do the swingshot all of my team clapped for every single person that went up there. The life skills that I gained are communication, confidence and leadership. I gain that from camp how? During our rotations I feel like I developed something new which was the communication showing your team what to do. I learnt how to show confidence, and practice standing out to others. Leadership: Leading your team the right way. These life skills that I learnt will help me in the future. If something like this come’s up you can use those skills there. My advice to a Year 7 going into camp next year would be : Be happy with your team and show some leadership. And connect with your team. I will miss so many things, mostly this camp. I wouldn’t have learned those life skills. This camp was so fun I’m gonna miss it. This camp was so fun I would never forget it. I would do this camp all over again because the experience I had was off the charts. |
